 Autograph Vehicles Ltd t/a Autograph Cars sells goods and service on this website in accordance with European distance selling regulations.  Our terms and conditions, including our sales, delivery, returns and refund policies are detailed here.

In purchasing from this website you do so in acceptance of these terms and conditions (or T&C).  If you have any questions then please contact a member of the sales team prior to making your purchase.  Your statutory rights are not affected.

For the purposes of these T&C where your see “The Company” or “Us” or “We” this refers to Autograph Vehicles Ltd trading as Autograph Cars.  Where you see “Consumer” or “You” this means you as the customer, the person buying goods over this website or over the telephone or via facsimile. Where you see “Website” this refers to the usual manner in which we distance sell, but this also relates to sales conducted over the telephone or via facsimile.  Where you see DSR this is an abbreviation of distance selling regulations.

Purchase Information
The Company will sell to customers within the UK and the European Union from this website.  Customers wishing to purchase from other locations should contact the Sales Team.
All goods will be sold to UK and EU customers inclusive of UK VAT at the applicable rate.
Goods sold to customers outside of the UK and EU will be exclusive of UK VAT but will be subject to the import duty levied by the importing nation and the applicable local rate.

Many items sold on the website are vehicle make and model specific or require fitment/installation by a trained and experienced technician/mechanic.  You are advised to take when ordering that you order the correct item to suit your vehicle and if you are in any doubt then you are advised to contact us for further advice prior to submitting your order.  Our Sales Team have a wealth of experience and knowledge of all the products sold on this website and will ensure that you order the right product for the job.  Where items require fitting/installation we advise that you only use a qualified technician with the appropriate experience.  Please note that we do not accept any labour claims in any circumstances.  Autograph Vehicles offers a fitting/installation service at its Burnley premises for any goods purchased online.

Business to Business Transactions
This website is designed for retail sales to individual consumers and the T&C detailed here are with that in mind.  DSR does not apply to business to business transactions and in such circumstances our general trading conditions apply.  If you are a business and are purchasing from the website or over the telephone please advise the sales staff and a copy of our General Trade Terms and Conditions will be issued to you.

Commencement of Sales Contract
Where you buy goods over the website you will receive an automated response via email.  This response will confirm the order you have placed and is your opportunity to check that all is correct with your order – including, but limited to; quantities, price, delivery charges, delivery methods,  item descriptions, additional services.  This does not however form the sales contract between the Company and the Consumer.  Once we have received your order it will be processed manually and a sales invoice will be generated – this is the first opportunity for the Company to check that all is correct with the order – including but not limited to; availabilities of product(s), current selling price (taking into account any fluctuations in exchange rates or increase/decrease in selling price by the manufacturer and the suitability of the delivery method chosen.  If there is a problem with goods availability or there has been any increase in the price of the goods then you will be notified and/or offered a substitute prior to invoice and it will be your right to refuse the contract at that point.  Once the invoice has been raised and sent (by email or fax) then the contract will have been said to have concluded in accordance with DSR.  Please note that the Company reserves the right to refuse an order or insist that any sales transaction is to be completed in-store following inspection of the goods.

Payment & Pricing Information
Goods are sold in Pound Sterling and prices shown on the website include Value Added Tax at the applicable rate – currently 17.5%

Many goods are manufactured and sourced outside of the UK and pricing of these items can often be affected by fluctuations in currency exchange rates.  We reserve the right to amend prices at any time and for any reason.  If the price of the goods you order changes we will notify you before the conclusion of the sales contract.

If you have been provided with a written quotation for custom made goods or for services then this price will remain valid for 14 days.

We accept payment via credit/debit card over the internet and over the telephone.  Please note that due to the high risk of fraud we can now only ship goods to the card holders billing address.  If you require goods to be shipped to an alternative address then we suggest contacting us and arranging payment via an alternative method.

Goods are sold in Pounds Sterling and if purchasing using a non-UK credit card then your card issuer will process the payment at their published exchange rate for your currency.  The Company cannot be held responsible for the currency exchange rate or commissions applied by your bank or credit card company. 

If you wish to pay by cheque please contact us and place your order over the telephone.  Your order confirmation and sales invoice can be sent in the usual manner.  Cheque payments take 10 working days to clear.  Please note that your goods will only be dispatched once funds have cleared in our bank.

We also accept payment via BACS/CHAPS/TT if you wish to pay via this method please contact the sales office. Please note that goods will only be dispatched once funds have cleared in our bank.

If you wish to cancel your order then you should do so upon receiving the order confirmation and prior to the sales invoice being sent.  This will ensure that no goods are dispatched to you. 

If you wish to cancel after receiving your sales invoice then you must be quick and do so within the hour, as goods in stock will be boxed up ready to be collected by the courier very quickly.
We hope that you will be happy with the goods you purchase from us, however if you wish to cancel your order following delivery then we will honour your statutory rights and allow you seven working days to cancel the contract.  This must be done in writing and we recommend doing so via email to

Cancellation outside of the 7-day window will not be considered in any circumstances.

Cancellation within the 7-day window only applies to goods purchased in accordance with the distance selling regulations.  We reserve the right to refuse cancellation in certain circumstances, including, but limited to:


  • Items of Satellite Navigation software
  • Items previously inspected in person prior to purchase online or over the telephone or fax
  • Where written notification is received after the statutory period
  • Purchase of services
  • Goods custom made

Returns & Refunds
We hope that you will be happy with the goods you purchase from us, but we do understand that from time to time you may need to send items back to us.

Return and Refund Following Cancellation
If you are returning items following cancellation within seven days then you are required to first notify us in writing of your wish to cancel.  You must do this within seven days of the goods being received – we recommend doing so via email.  Please include your daytime telephone number in this correspondence and a member of the Sales Team will contact you to arrange the return of the unwanted goods.

In all circumstance of return you MUST obtain a Returns Authorisation Notice from us.  This will include a unique identification number and an address label to affix to your returns parcel. 

Please note – No RAN – No Refund – No Exception

Once you have been provided with a RAN you may post the item back to us, you will be responsible for the cost of doing so.  You may also request a pre-paid returns label (the cost of this will be deducted from your refund) from us or, you may return the item in person to our Burnley shop premises.

Goods returned to us must be in their original condition and should not have been used, tampered with, altered in any way or fitted to your vehicle.

Goods must be returned in their original condition and in undamaged packaging and include all ancillary items sold with the goods (e.g.: user manuals, grease packets, leads and adaptor cables, gaskets, etc.)  It is your responsibility in law to take reasonable care of the goods whilst in your possession and whilst in transit for return.  If goods are returned damaged or incomplete then we reserve our right to refuse or limit a refund.  We advise therefore that when inspecting goods upon delivery you should take care to preserve packaging and leave any seals undisturbed.  Inspection of goods should therefore be just as you would inspect in a shop prior to purchase.

When goods are received back they shall be inspected and we will refund the cost of the item and the cost of sending the item to you as follows:

  • where you are returning an item that was part of a larger order, we'll refund pro-rata the charge for delivery that you incurred (e.g.: if delivery was £10.00 and you ordered 5 items and returned 1, your refund would be £2.00)
  • where you are returning an entire order, we'll refund applicable per-item delivery charges and the per-delivery charge that you incurred
  • we will refund only standard delivery charges not any additional services such as next-day or Saturday delivery
  • we will not refund for any additional services such as gift wrapping or consultancy fees
  • where we collect an item from you, we reserve the right to recover the costs of collection from you.
  • if you use a personalised pre-paid return label, we will deduct the return postage from your overall refund.

Refunds will be processed within 30 days of receipt of the unwanted goods, subject to the terms shown here.

Return and Refund Items returned because they are damaged, defective or incorrect

We hope this never happens but if you are returning an item because of an error on our part or, in accordance with our returns policy, because it is damaged or defective, we will refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and cover the cost of return to us.

In all circumstance of return you MUST obtain a Returns Authorisation Notice from us.  This will include a unique identification number and a pre-paid returns address label to affix to your returns parcel.  Please note that we will only cover the cost of return when using one of our pre-paid address labels or Royal Mail postage to an equal value.  If you choose to pay for additional services then this will be at your own cost.  If you prefer, you may also return the item in person to our Burnley shop premises.  If you do so we will offer you a £5.00 gift voucher to spend in store to cover your time and trouble.

Please be aware that we will check all items returned as damaged or defective. In the event we find no fault, we reserve the right to re-charge you for the item/s and to recover our fees and expenses from you.  It is your duty to take all reasonable steps to ensure the suitability and operation of goods before attempting to fit them to your vehicle or use them.  If any modifications or alterations are made to goods during the fitting process then this may effect your recourse for any refund or exchange if goods are found to later be defective following fitment or use. Some examples of where this may be applicable are listed below (this list is not exhaustive but given as an illustration):


  • Body styling equipment should be offered to the vehicle prior to fitment to ensure good fit.  Any defective or incorrect items that have been fitted to a vehicle or painted will not be eligible for refund.
  • Head Units should always be fitted using the connection leads provided. Electrical equipment that has been incorrectly fitted due to misuse or modification of the connecting leads may not be eligible for refund as any failure could be due to incorrect fitment.
  • Replacement parts should always be compared to the parts being replaced to check suitability.  Goods supplied should fit the vehicle without modification unless otherwise specified.  It should not therefore be necessary to modify any connections, brackets or fitments.  Should goods be tampered with during fitment you may not be eligible for refund.

Once it has been accepted that goods are damaged or defective the refund procedure will ensure that you receive a full refund or within 30-days.  If an exchange is preferable this will be dispatched to you as soon as stock availability allows (we will aim for within 7 days).  Where goods are returned in person to our Burnley shop we cannot guarantee a refund and gift voucher will be immediately available and this may have to be sent on to you or refunded to your card within the standard 30-day terms.

Returns Authorisation Notice
This is required before any item can be assessed for return and/or refund.  If you need to return an item to us you must do so in accordance with our terms and conditions and only after obtaining a Returns Authorisation Notice, which will in some circumstances include a pre-paid returns label.  If you need to return an item for any reason then please contact the Sales Team for further instruction.

 Please be advised that no return will be accepted and no refund will be processed unless goods are returned with the appropriate RAN.

Where an item is ordered and/or made to your specification it cannot be returned.  When ordering such items you will be provided with confirmation of the item and its specification, once you confirm this to be correct the order will be processed.Only if the goods later prove to be defective or not true to specification will a refund be considered.
